Sewing Up Skirts

Lots of skirts were started and even finished at Sew Up Seattle’s session yesterday at Goods for the Planet. I didn’t have a skirt project in mind, so I just showed up to work on another project (pull out some stitches that went awry, more like) and I lent a hand where needed. As Sew Up Seattle points out, a skirt is just a tube of fabric. Here are some skirts I saw being made, all with fabric donated for the cause: an overall graphic pattern long skirt, an very fall orange-ish short skirt, a purple skirt that looked great with a purple top that a sewer was already wearing (see picture below), and a feminine floral full skirt (see Grace, below). All in just one session! Next month folks can work on Halloween costumes — it is almost September, after all!
