I’m generally not a fan of Project Runway patterns, but I’m excited to sew up the Simplicity 2822 pattern that I acquired recently. Having tried to flatter my particular figure type with McCall’s M6433 recently (more on that in another post), I think this is more likely the ticket. You see, I’m an inverted triangle, which means my shoulders are wider than my hips. So I can get away with — and should pursue — details at the hips to pull off a more hourglass shape.
I like the pleats in the skirt. The colorblocking combines with the princess seams to create more of a waist than I have. I think I am going to nix the pleats in the sleeves, since I’ve already got the linebacker thing going on anyway.
