A New Skirt for Spring

If spring ever comes, I’ll be ready. I used a William Morris cotton print purchased from Fabric Crush and Simplicity 2758 skirt pattern to make this gored skirt with pockets. I’m quite happy with the result. This Simplicity Threads Magazine pattern has one gore in the middle, which means that a contrasting fabric could be used inside to add interest. The colors are autumn but the fabric and cut are for summer.
I’m so happy with how the birds match on both sides, and there really was no planning behind how the birds meet up at the pocket pleat. I think the skirt is flattering for a lot of figures — adding curves to a straight figure and flowing around a curvy figure.
